This novel takes place in South Africa, using a real country and the framework of history to spin a personal and powerful tale veering off into historical fantasy that gives the audience a flavor of the land, its people and problems, enriching a suspenseful plot of politics and warfare. Natalie Wild is now one of my favorite authors. And far more sterile. At this, the land shook and all of nature became silent, anxious to hear more. I think that this story is written well, and quite historically accurate. Don't get me wrong, I truely enjoyed the others in the series, this one just seems lacking.
